About this pattern
This red mitten reminds me of the ones my kids lose every winter, one at a time. It has a little Nordic-style band of snowflakes across the hand and a soft ribbed cuff.
It's 32 x 40 stitches (about 2.3 x 2.9 inches on 14 count Aida) in 5 colors, with simple rows and blocks of color, so it's perfect for beginners. The chart is drawn on oatmeal fabric, which gives it a warm, homespun look.
Here's my favorite trick: stitch it twice, flipping the chart for the second one, and tie the pair together with a ribbon. Finish it as a felt-backed shaped ornament, or pop it in a 3 to 4 inch round hoop or ornament frame with a loop of ribbon.
