A biscornu is a little eight-sided pincushion made from two stitched squares, joined with a twist and a button in the middle. They are one of my favorite things to give, because they look so clever and are so useful. This collection has five designs: a Christmas holly wreath, a folk strawberry, two-color Quaker hearts, a woodland toadstool and a frosty snowflake on navy.

Biscornu patterns with two faces and a step-by-step guide
Each biscornu pattern is 50 x 50 stitches per face, which makes a pincushion of roughly 3.5 inches on 14 count aida. Every design has two coordinating faces, and each one includes a step-by-step finishing guide, so your first biscornu comes together without guesswork. The palettes are small, from just two colors for the Quaker hearts to six for the toadstool, and they are gentle intermediate stitches.
They make lovely gifts for a stitching friend, and the holly and snowflake designs are sweet as Christmas ornaments too. Are these patterns a physical kit?
No, these are digital PDF patterns. You download them instantly after checkout. Fabric, thread and hoop are not included, and each pattern lists exactly which DMC colors you need.
Are they suitable for beginners?
Every pattern has an honest difficulty label. Beginner patterns use a small palette, full cross stitches only and very little confetti, so they are lovely first projects.
