These little Christmas ornament cross stitch patterns are the ones I reach for when December gets busy. Each one is small enough to finish in an evening on the sofa: a gingerbread man with gumdrop buttons, a red mitten with a Nordic snowflake band, a striped stocking, a snowy log cabin and a round robin in a Santa hat. Four of the five are beginner friendly, and none of them asks for more than nine colors.

Cross stitch ornaments for your tree (and your gift list)
Every design sits around 30 to 40 stitches across, so on 14 count aida each finished ornament is roughly 2.5 to 3 inches. That is the perfect size for felt-backed tree ornaments, gift tags or a tiny hoop tied to a present. Stitch a pair of mittens and join them with ribbon, or make a whole set for a little ornament garland.
Each pattern comes as an instant PDF with a full-color chart, a black and white symbol chart, a large print chart and a Pattern Keeper version, plus a DMC floss key. If you have never finished an ornament before, my guide on how to make cross stitch ornaments walks you through felt, card and no-sew backs. Looking for more festive stitching? Good to know
Are these patterns a physical kit?
No, these are digital PDF patterns. You download them instantly after checkout. Fabric, thread and hoop are not included, and each pattern lists exactly which DMC colors you need.
Are they suitable for beginners?
Every pattern has an honest difficulty label. Beginner patterns use a small palette, full cross stitches only and very little confetti, so they are lovely first projects.
Can I use Pattern Keeper?
Yes. Every pattern includes a Pattern Keeper friendly PDF along with the full-color and black & white charts.
