Fox, deer and cardinal cross stitch for the cold months
These designs are a calm alternative to all the glitter of December, so they can stay on the wall right through February. Most are 60 to 80 stitches across, about 4.5 to 6 inches on 14 count aida, and use eight to ten colors. Evergreen Hill at Dusk is beginner friendly; the others are gentle intermediate stitches with soft shading.
Deer Under Stars and Snowy Owl & Moon are charted for navy fabric, which makes the whites and golds glow.
