About this pattern
This is the view I love most in winter: that short moment at dusk when the sky goes from deep blue to rose and peach, and the evergreens on the hill turn dark against it. I put it in a little circle of sky with a crescent moon and a few stars.
It's a beginner-friendly design. The sky is made of big, calm bands of color, and the trees are simple stacked shapes with snow on their branches. There are 9 DMC colors and no tricky details, so it's a really relaxing project, the kind you can stitch while you chat or watch a film.
It measures 80 x 60 stitches, about 5.7 x 4.3 inches on 14 count Aida. I'd suggest oatmeal or cream fabric so the white snow reads clearly, and it fits nicely in a 7 inch hoop.
It's a lovely first winter project, a gift for someone who loves quiet landscapes, or a soft, wintry piece to hang from November to the end of February.
