About this pattern
Folk stars are one of my favorite things to stitch: once you've done the first point, the rest just flows. This little star has eight red points around a golden center, with tiny green sprigs between them, in a Scandinavian-inspired style.
It's 29 x 29 stitches, about 2.1 inches on 14-count Aida, in 3 DMC colors. The counting is simple and repetitive, which makes it a relaxing beginner project and a great one for learning to stitch symmetrical shapes.
Finish it in a small hoop for the tree, sew it onto a felt ornament, or stitch several for a row of matching gift tags. It also looks lovely in a white frame all winter long.
