About this pattern

January is a quiet month in our house after all the Christmas noise, so I like to have a small, calm project for it. This free stitch-along gives you one snowflake a week. By the end of the month, the four blocks join into one frosty little sampler with a frame and dashed center lines.

The finished piece is 44 x 44 stitches, about 3.1 inches square on 14-count Aida, in just two shades of blue (DMC 825 and 3755) on white fabric. Each snowflake is about 20 stitches square, so a week's part takes about an evening or two.

The PDF has the full sampler chart, plus a page for each week that shows only that quarter, with a little map so you always know where you are. Stitch along week by week, or just stitch the whole thing at once.

You get color and black and white charts, a large print version, a Pattern Keeper compatible PDF and a floss key. I'd love for you to stitch along with me!

Questions

How do I get my pattern?

Free patterns download instantly after you join the letter on the free patterns page.

Is this a physical kit?

No. This is a digital PDF download. No fabric, thread or hoop is included and nothing is shipped. The floss key lists every DMC color you need.

How do I print it?

Print at 100% scale (or "actual size") on US Letter or A4 paper. The black & white chart saves ink and is easy to read. You can also stitch straight from a tablet.

Does it work with Pattern Keeper?

Yes. A Pattern Keeper friendly PDF is included, so you can import it and mark stitches off as you go. Backstitch (if any) is listed separately, because Pattern Keeper only tracks full crosses.

What if something is wrong with my file?

If a file has a problem, we'll fix it or refund you. Just send Sara a message. See the refund policy for details.
