About this pattern
This advent calendar cross stitch sampler is a 24-day Christmas stitch-along: you stitch one little window a day from December 1 to Christmas Eve, and the countdown grows on your hoop. Each window has a big clear number and its own tiny motif, from a gold star and a mitten to a robin, a penguin and a teddy, and the last one gets a gold frame and the Christmas tree.
What's inside
- The full sampler chart (149 x 190 stitches, 14 colors) in color, black and white, large print and a Pattern Keeper compatible PDF
- A stitch-along planner: how it works, a November prep plan for the house, a day-by-day schedule for December 1 to 24, a tick-off checklist and a no-guilt catch-up plan
- All 24 windows charted again on their own, so you can carry one page a day (and stitch any window as a mini ornament or gift tag)
- A real-size preview, a stitch-time estimate and a progress tracker
- Floss key with DMC numbers and skein amounts
Size: about 10.6 x 13.6 inches on 14 count Aida, 9.3 x 11.9 inches on 16 count, or 8.3 x 10.6 inches on 18 count. Each window is about 1.5 x 2.1 inches on 14 count, roughly 45 minutes of stitching.
The schedule has no weekdays on it, so it works every year. Start in November with the house, or begin on December 1 and fill in the roof on the Sundays of Advent.
It's a wonderful family tradition (my kids love coloring in the checklist boxes) and a sweet gift for a stitching friend. I suggest Antique White Aida. Plus our free beginner cheat sheet and bonus minis with every order.
