About this pattern
These 50 mini Christmas ornament cross stitch patterns are my biggest little set yet, and every single one is stitched from the same 18 DMC colors. Buy the threads once and you can stitch all fifty.
Five families of ten, so you can pick favorites or theme a whole tree:
- Patterned baubles: zigzags, tartan, a Nordic band, a snowflake and more
- Woodland friends in hats and scarves: robin, fox, reindeer, penguin, owl, cat, puppy, bear, mouse and hedgehog
- Christmas sweets, from a gingerbread man to a peppermint swirl
- Nordic folk motifs like a Dala horse, a little tomte and a folk star
- Little words: JOY, NOEL, PEACE, LOVE, MERRY, HO HO, 2026, BELIEVE, CHEER and HOPE
Each ornament is 31 x 31 stitches (the words are 35 x 31): about 2.2 inches on 14 count, 1.9 on 16 and 1.7 on 18, so it fits a 4 inch hoop on 14 count (a 3 inch hoop on 16 or 18 count) or a felt ornament. They're full stitches only, with very few single stitches, which makes them a lovely first project too. Every preview is rendered from the actual chart, so what you see is what you stitch.
Every ornament has its own page in the color, black and white and large print charts, plus a Pattern Keeper file and an overview of all fifty. Tuck one into a card or tie one onto a present; my kids have already claimed the penguin and the puppy. I suggest Antique White Aida so the snow and icing show up.
