About this pattern
A biscornu is a little eight-sided pincushion made from two stitched squares, sewn together with a twist and finished with a button in the middle. They're addictive to make and lovely to give.
This one is all Christmas: a holly wreath with red berries around a golden star on the top face, framed by a row of little gold stars, and four holly sprigs with berries on the bottom face, inside a candy-stripe border. Each face is 50 x 50 stitches, about 3.6 inches square on 14-count Aida, in 5 DMC colors.
Both faces share the same outer border stitch count, so they line up perfectly when you join them. My step-by-step finishing guide shows you how to back-stitch the edges, join the faces corner to middle, stuff the cushion and add the button.
Tuck it into a stitching friend's stocking, tie it to a gift, or keep it in a bowl with your ornaments.
You get both faces as full color charts, black and white symbol charts, a large print version and a Pattern Keeper compatible PDF, plus a floss key with DMC numbers and skein estimates and my illustrated biscornu finishing guide.
