About this pattern
Quaker motifs are my favorite thing to stitch when I want something calm and portable. This biscornu uses just two colors, brick red and sage, and both faces are built from hearts, diamonds and little crosses in that classic sampler style.
The top face has four hearts meeting in the middle inside a lacy lattice border. The bottom face is a diamond medallion with four hearts at its center, framed by sage dots and crosses. Each face is 50 x 50 stitches, about 3.6 inches square on 14-count Aida.
With only two threads it's a lovely project to carry around in a small pouch. When both faces are stitched, my finishing guide walks you through joining them into an eight-sided pincushion with a button in the middle.
A thoughtful gift for a stitching friend, or a pretty pincushion for your own needles.
You get both faces as full color charts, black and white symbol charts, a large print version and a Pattern Keeper compatible PDF, plus a floss key with DMC numbers and skein estimates and my illustrated biscornu finishing guide.
