About this pattern
This Delft tile cross stitch sampler brings nine blue-and-white tiles together in one calm 3 x 3 wall, like a little corner of a Dutch kitchen. Half are classic Delft pictures and half are Portuguese-style azulejo patterns, and every one also works on its own.
What's inside
- The full sampler chart (101 x 101 stitches) plus all 9 tiles as one-page charts: Star Rosette, Delft Tulip, Corner Lace, Songbird, Carnation Medallion, Sailing Ship, Fleur Corners, Windmill and Flower Vase
- Color, black & white and large print PDFs, plus Pattern Keeper and OXS files
- 2 colorways: Three Blues, and One Blue, where every stitch is DMC 820 for a bold silhouette look
- Ornament circle templates, a real-size page, stitch-time estimates, a progress tracker and a tick-it-off checklist
Sizes Each tile is 33 x 33 stitches: about 2.4 in on 14 count, 2.1 in on 16 and 1.8 in on 18. The whole sampler is about 7.2 in square on 14 count. Full stitches only, no backstitch, and very few single stitches. Each tile takes about 2 to 3 hours, and the full sampler about 20 hours, at about 200 stitches an hour; your pace may vary.
Ways to use it Frame the whole tile wall for the kitchen, slip single tiles into photo coasters, or finish them as felt-backed ornaments and gift tags.
Who it's for Blue-and-white lovers, anyone with Dutch or Portuguese roots, and beginners who want a restful pattern with only three colors.
I'd stitch it on white 14 count Aida, or 28 count linen over two.
