About this pattern
This is the pattern I most wanted to make for my own living room wall: a cozy brick fireplace with a crackling fire, candles on the mantel and four stockings hung in a row, one for everyone in the house.
The cream cuffs are left blank on purpose. I've included a little alphabet chart with capitals and numbers, so you can stitch each person's initials onto their stocking. Every cuff is 13 stitches wide, so one or two letters fit nicely, and the alphabet page shows you how to center them.
The design is 90 x 80 stitches, about 6.4 x 5.7 inches on 14-count Aida, in 14 DMC colors. It's an intermediate stitch: lots of satisfying brickwork, a glowing fire to shade, and four stockings that each have their own little motif.
I suggested antique white Aida, which keeps the whole scene warm and soft. Stitch it in autumn and it'll be ready to hang by December, or make it as a family keepsake with this year's initials.
You get a full color chart, a black and white symbol chart, a large print version, a Pattern Keeper compatible PDF and a floss key with DMC numbers and skein estimates. The initials alphabet is added to the color, black and white and large print PDFs.
