About this pattern

Every pond needs royalty, and this little frog has taken the job very seriously. He's sitting on his red toadstool throne with a gold crown on his head, rosy cheeks and a big, proud smile.

It's a small, beginner-friendly pattern with 9 DMC colors and clear, simple shapes: soft greens for the frog, red and white for the toadstool, a little grass at the base and a gold crown with tiny jewels.

At 44 x 56 stitches it finishes at about 3.1 x 4 inches on 14 count Aida. It fits a 4 or 5 inch hoop and makes a quick, satisfying weekend stitch. It also looks sweet as a hoop ornament.

It's a fun gift for a fairy tale lover, a cheeky present for a friend who's still waiting for their prince, or a happy decoration for a nursery. Antique white or cream fabric suits it best.

Is this a physical kit?

No. This is a digital PDF download. No fabric, thread or hoop is included and nothing is shipped. The floss key lists every DMC color you need.

How do I print it?

Print at 100% scale (or "actual size") on US Letter or A4 paper. The black & white chart saves ink and is easy to read. You can also stitch straight from a tablet.

Does it work with Pattern Keeper?

Yes. A Pattern Keeper friendly PDF is included, so you can import it and mark stitches off as you go. Backstitch (if any) is listed separately, because Pattern Keeper only tracks full crosses.
