About this pattern
Rainy days are my favorite stitching days, and this little frog clearly agrees. He's holding a big red toadstool like an umbrella, standing in a puddle while the raindrops fall all around him, and he couldn't be happier about it.
It's a beginner-friendly pattern with 9 DMC colors and simple, bold shapes. The frog is stitched in three soft greens with rosy cheeks, the toadstool is red with big white spots, and the raindrops are short blue dashes that are quick to add at the end.
At 50 x 60 stitches it finishes at about 3.6 x 4.3 inches on 14 count Aida. It fits a 5 or 6 inch hoop, and it works up in a few relaxed evenings.
It's a sweet gift for a frog lover, a cheerful piece for a child's room, or a happy little project to brighten up a gray afternoon. I like it on antique white or cream fabric.
