About this pattern
A friendly ladybug with big black spots, little legs, antennae and shiny white eyes. It uses only three colors, and the spots are big squares that small fingers can count, which makes it a great second or third project after a first heart.
The design is 24 x 22 stitches: about 2.2 x 2 inches on 11-count Aida, or about 4 inches across on 6-count Binca or plastic canvas. The red body is one big area to fill, so children get lots of practice and a quick sense of progress.
Inside you'll find my one-page parent guide, "Stitching with your little one", with tips on choosing Binca, 11-count or plastic canvas, using a blunt needle and short thread, and celebrating the finished piece.
It's a lovely rainy-day project, and the finished ladybug looks sweet as a magnet or on a little tote bag.
You get a full color chart, a black and white symbol chart, a large print version, a Pattern Keeper compatible PDF and a floss key with DMC numbers and skein estimates.
