About this pattern
A bright rainbow resting on two fluffy clouds. Each stripe is a single color, which makes this pattern a lovely way for children to practice changing threads and finishing off, one stripe at a time.
It's 32 x 20 stitches: about 2.9 x 1.8 inches on 11-count Aida, or about 5 inches wide on 6-count Binca or plastic canvas. It uses six colors, but every area is big and simple, so it's still very beginner friendly.
I've included my one-page parent guide, "Stitching with your little one": what fabric to pick, why a blunt needle and short threads make life easier, and little ways to celebrate when it's finished.
Let them choose their own rainbow colors if they like - there's no wrong rainbow. It makes a cheerful card, a bookmark-sized hoop or a gift for a new baby sibling.
You get a full color chart, a black and white symbol chart, a large print version, a Pattern Keeper compatible PDF and a floss key with DMC numbers and skein estimates.
