About this pattern
I love a wreath you can keep up all year, and this one is full of woodland treasures. Red spotted toadstools cluster at the bottom, little brown boletes and pink mushrooms peek out around the sides, and tiny pink blossoms are tucked between the leaves.
The leaves are stitched in three soft greens, which gives the wreath depth without any tricky shading. With 10 DMC colors and a fair bit of leafy stitching, I'd call it a relaxed intermediate project.
It's 70 x 70 stitches, about 5 inches square on 14 count Aida, so a 7 inch hoop suits it well. The open center is a lovely spot for a name, an initial or a date if you'd like to personalize it, or leave it plain for that airy, modern look.
It makes a charming housewarming or birthday gift, and it's at home in a kitchen, a reading nook or a little girl's room. Stitch it on antique white or cream for a soft, vintage feel.
