About this pattern
This little snail always makes me smile. He's sliding along a strip of moss with his rosy cheeks and his spiral shell, on his way to a patch of golden chanterelles.
It's a beginner-friendly pattern with simple shapes and 9 DMC colors: terracotta for the shell, warm beige for the snail, orange and gold for the chanterelles and a soft green for the moss. The spiral is one continuous line in a darker terracotta, so it's easy to follow and very satisfying to stitch.
At 60 x 50 stitches it finishes at about 4.3 x 3.6 inches on 14 count Aida. It fits a 5 or 6 inch hoop and works up quickly, so it's a nice weekend project.
It's a sweet gift for a nature lover or a child, and a fun first pattern if you're teaching someone to stitch. I'd use antique white or cream fabric so the soft colors shine.
