About this pattern
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, so I wanted a sampler that says it simply: THANKFUL. The big block letters are stitched in rust with a golden shadow, with "give thanks" underneath, and the whole thing is wrapped in a harvest border of maple leaves and acorns, wheat sheaves, pumpkins and little leafy vines.
It's a beginner-friendly pattern. The letters are chunky and easy to count, the border motifs repeat, and there are just 8 DMC colors. It's a satisfying project to start in early fall and have ready in time to hang for Thanksgiving dinner.
The design is 96 x 70 stitches, about 6.9 x 5 inches on 14 count Aida. It fits an 8 x 10 frame with a mat, or a large oval hoop. I love it on antique white or oatmeal fabric for a warm, old-fashioned feel.
Hang it by the table, in the entryway, or give it to the person who always hosts the family dinner. It's a lovely way to say thank you.
