About this pattern
Is there anything better than a warm mug of apple cider on a chilly afternoon? This one comes in a sage green mug with a ribbed, knitted sleeve, a cinnamon stick poking out, three swirls of steam and two orchard apples sitting beside it.
It's a cheerful beginner pattern with big, simple shapes. The sleeve is just rows of rust with darker ribs, so it stitches up quickly and looks wonderfully textured once it's done. There are only 9 DMC colors, and they're the same warm tones as the rest of my Cozy Autumn collection.
The design is 60 x 60 stitches, about 4.3 x 4.3 inches on 14 count Aida, so it fits nicely in a 6 inch hoop. It also makes a sweet card front or a little framed piece for the kitchen. I'd use antique white or cream fabric.
It's a lovely gift for the friend who starts drinking cider the minute September arrives, or a cozy project to stitch with your own mug close by.
