About this pattern
Tall poppies, cornflowers, daisies, sprigs of lavender and little buttercups growing up from a tuft of meadow grass, framed by a simple sage-green border. It's my summer-afternoon bookmark: breezy, colorful and calm.
The pattern is 28 x 104 stitches in 10 DMC colors, about 2 x 7.4 inches on 14 count, which is a lovely size for a bookmark. Each flower is a small, satisfying motif, and the stems are easy straight lines, so it's very beginner friendly.
I like it on oatmeal Aida so the white daisies show. It's a thoughtful gift for a gardener, a book club friend or a teacher.
Finishing tip: leave at least an inch of fabric beyond the border on every side. Back it with felt or a strip of cotton, trim close to the border (or fold the edges under and slip-stitch), then add a tassel or a ribbon through the plain space at the top. The patterns come with a color chart, a black and white chart, a large-print chart and a Pattern Keeper compatible PDF, plus a DMC floss key.
