About this pattern
Seven moon phases, from a thin crescent to full moon and back again, scattered with pastel stars and framed with a lavender border. It's stitched on navy Aida, so the night sky is already done for you.
It's 26 x 100 stitches in only 4 DMC colors, about 1.9 x 7.1 inches on 14 count. The moons are simple round shapes with a soft blue shadow side, which makes it a very relaxing, almost meditative stitch, and a nice first project on dark fabric.
Black Aida works too. It's a lovely gift for anyone who loves the night sky, astrology or a quiet read by lamplight.
Finishing tip: leave at least an inch of fabric beyond the border on every side. Back it with felt or a strip of cotton, trim close to the border (or fold the edges under and slip-stitch), then add a tassel or a ribbon through the plain space at the top. The patterns come with a color chart, a black and white chart, a large-print chart and a Pattern Keeper compatible PDF, plus a DMC floss key.
