About this pattern
These bookish Christmas cross stitch patterns are for every reader who has ever whispered "just one more chapter". I designed nine little book-lover minis, and they all share one 16-color palette, so one set of floss stitches the whole collection.
Inside the set:
- A book-stack Christmas tree with a gold star
- A tabby cat asleep on a pile of books by the fire
- "Will read for cocoa", with a candy cane in the mug
- A snowy reading-nook window with an open book on the seat
- A book ornament with holly on the cover
- A library card stamped with holly, due back 12-25
- Tea and a good book
- "Just one more chapter"
- A Christmas wreath resting on a stack of books
Each mini is 38 x 40 stitches: about 2.7 x 2.9 inches on 14 count and 2.1 x 2.2 inches on 18 count, so it fits a 5 inch hoop on 14 count, a 4 inch hoop on 16 or 18 count, or a felt ornament. They're full stitches only, with very few single stitches. Every mini has its own one-page chart in color, black and white and large print, plus a Pattern Keeper file and a 3 x 3 sampler layout. You also get a second colorway, Vintage Library, in soft antique tones.
Stitch them as tree ornaments, gift tags for a book club swap, a bookmark end or a little framed piece. They make a sweet gift for a teacher, a librarian or the friend who always has a book in her bag, and most of them stay cozy well into January.
I suggest Antique White 14 count Aida.
