About this pattern
Special delivery from the North Pole! These 12 Christmas postage stamp cross stitch patterns are my own little retro stamp series, each one framed in stitched perforations with NORTH POLE POST lettering and a tiny value numeral.
The stamps are a reindeer, a sleigh, a mail sack, a snow globe, a candle, a bauble, a pine tree, a gingerbread man, a polar bear, an elf hat, a letter to Santa and the North Star. Look closely at the values: 24 and 25 are Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the sleigh's 8 is one for each reindeer, and 90 is the latitude of the North Pole.
What's inside:
- 12 stamp patterns, each on its own page in color, black and white and large print
- A framed "stamp collection" layout with an airmail-stripe border
- Pattern Keeper charts and OXS files
- 3 colorways: Retro Post, Faded Vintage and Frosty Blue
- Printable gift tags, a stitching checklist and a "ways to use your minis" page
- A real-size preview page and a stitch-time estimate
Each stamp is 42 x 50 stitches, about 3 x 3.6 inches on 14 count, and all twelve share one retro palette of 14 DMC colors. The framed collection is about 14 inches square on 14 count.
Glue one in the corner of a Christmas card. Back them with felt for the tree, tie them onto parcels as gift tags, or sew one onto a little linen gift bag.
The lettering is left unstitched, so the fabric becomes the "paper" of the stamp. They're full stitches only, with very few single stitches.
I suggest Antique White or white 14 count Aida so the perforations and lettering stay crisp.
