About this pattern
This one feels like a favorite winter sweater you can frame. A big serif JOY sits between two white reindeer, with a row of little pine trees and snowflakes above and a band of hearts below.
I kept it to just four colors (red, green, white and a touch of brown for the tree trunks), so you can settle in and enjoy the rhythm of the bands without juggling threads. It's charted for natural linen or oatmeal Aida, where the white reindeer really glow.
At 110 x 80 stitches it finishes around 7.9 x 5.7 inches on 14-count, which is a lovely size for a mantel frame or the middle of a holiday gallery wall. Most of the bands repeat, so once you've stitched the first few motifs you'll be flying.
It would make a beautiful handmade gift for anyone who loves Scandinavian Christmas style. Or keep it for yourself and bring it out every December.
