About this pattern
A sage-green teacup with a pink heart, its steam curling up and turning into little open books flying off the top of the bookmark, with a few tiny hearts drifting along. Tea and a good book, in one design.
It's 28 x 104 stitches in 8 DMC colors, about 2 x 7.4 inches on 14 count, with a simple sage border. The cup is the biggest shape and the books are small, fun motifs, so it moves along quickly and is great for beginners.
I'd stitch it on oatmeal Aida. It's the bookmark I'd tuck inside a new novel for a friend's birthday.
Finishing tip: leave at least an inch of fabric beyond the border on every side. Back it with felt or a strip of cotton, trim close to the border (or fold the edges under and slip-stitch), then add a tassel or a ribbon through the plain space at the top. The patterns come with a color chart, a black and white chart, a large-print chart and a Pattern Keeper compatible PDF, plus a DMC floss key.
