About this pattern
A calm little piece for the busiest month of the year. A white folk-art dove carries an olive branch with one red berry beneath a golden eight-point star, and 'Peace' is stitched below in soft serif letters with 'on Earth' in gold.
I charted it for navy fabric because white and gold just glow on a dark background. It looks beautiful on antique blue or charcoal too. There are six colors, and the double gold border gives it a finished, framed feel even before you frame it.
The design is 90 x 110 stitches, about 6.4 x 7.9 inches on 14-count. The dove's wing is made of simple scallops, so it's more relaxing than it looks.
It's a thoughtful gift for a church friend, a teacher or a grandparent. It's also the kind of piece that comes out with the nativity set every year.
