About this pattern
This is my little love letter to slow afternoons and "just one more chapter". A frog sits on his lily pad with an open book, a pink water lily is blooming beside him, and the pond ripples gently around the edges.
It's a beginner-friendly design with 9 DMC colors. The frog uses three soft greens, the book has a warm terracotta cover with pale lines for the text, and the lily pad is a cool blue-green so the frog stands out.
At 60 x 50 stitches it finishes at about 4.3 x 3.6 inches on 14 count Aida, so a 5 or 6 inch hoop works nicely. It's a quick stitch and a lovely one for a first project.
It makes a perfect gift for a book club friend, a teacher or a librarian, and it looks right at home on a bookshelf or in a reading corner. I'd stitch it on antique white or cream fabric.
